Alpine Garden In Bloom

On June 11,  six of the AMC's Outdoor Guides and I hiked through the Alpine Garden on Mount Washington, in search of the spring alpine bloom. It was a beautiful, but very windy day.

Diapensia (Diapensia lapponica), Alpine azalea (Loiseleuria procumbens) and Lapland rosebay (Rhododendron lapponicum) are among the first to bloom above tree line and often do so simultaneously.

I'll post another flower update next week.  Get up there!
