Red-winged Blackbirds are must be spring?!

The Red-winged Blackbirds have arrived in Pinkham Notch, NH – a sure sign that spring has sprung. The males arrive first and stake out their territory by singing, "conk-la-reeee, conk-la-reeee." Their hopeful song warms my heart even if the thermometer doesn't agree.

Join us at AMC's Joe Dodge Lodge for a weekend of Birding By Ear, May 15-17.
