Look What A Little Rain Will Do

After a few days of rain the spring flowers seemed to burst into bloom.  On a recent woods wandering in Gorham NH, I found a few Trout Lily (Erythronium americanum) still in bloom, and hundreds already in fruit.  Hobblebush (Viburnum alnifolium) is in bloom as well as Red Trillium (Trillium erectum) and one of my favorites Bluets (Houstonia caerulea).  It's a beautiful time to take a walk in the woods, every day you will see something new.
